Hey. My first name is Marianne, and SilverFox Jams is the artist name I go by.
I'm not only a writer, but I'm a musician/singer and artist as well! I don't know if I want to make money doing this. These are things I like doing for fun. My day job is running my own bookshop. I sell mostly books, but also other things too, such as movies and some board games my mom and I just don't intend to play with friends anymore.
Introverted-Sensing-Feeling-Judging is my personality type. I enjoy sweets, humor, good prime time TV, listening to music, reading (on and off), and gaming (video and board games). There's other things I like, but listing them all would take me all night. x-3
I hope more members will come, and I hope this will develop into a great community.

Marianne, it's nice to officially meet you! I'm Lauren. Again, thank you for taking a chance on this community. I would love to keep this thing going; it's something I've been thinking about for a while. I have to say, your day job sounds a thousand times better than mine! I am an avid reader, and try to support independent bookstores as much as I can. I work at my family's patio furniture business (it's just as glorious as it sounds) doing everything and anything under the sun to keep my grandfather's name going and freelance as a researcher. You and sound like we have a number of things in common. I have that tantalizing little pipe dream of making my writing into some kind of career if not a part time gig, and trust me, I've submitted short stories, though I'm beginning to think they aren't my forte. Writing is a passion, hence the online community. I am introverted as well and who doesn't enjoy sweets and prime time television, my friend. I'm also a big re-run fan (Golden Girls, Gilmore Girls, Designing Women, Will and Grace, Cheers) Have you ever tried pursuing your pastimes into more than just pastimes?

Lauren, you're not the only one to say something like that about my shop, hahaha. It's tough though! The shop's been in my family for over 20 years now. It's not so bad, and it's cool being my own boss. I'm hoping that won't change anytime soon, for I tend to think about and do quite a few things in my spare time when traffic is slow.
It's a pleasant surprise to find out we have much in common. You seem like a really nice, cool person. Interesting too. I read something you posted on the Proboards Support forum about having an interest in sociology. Well, I have some interests in psychology! The human brain is so interesting to learn about, and it's interesting about the different personality types. Yeah, I think we'll get along really well.
Have I tried pursuing to publish my stuff...? Once. I was in high school, and talked with a creative writing teacher about posting a first chapter of this original story I wrote, though it didn't seem to make it in there. It wasn't as great as my more recent writings. I don't know when I'll try again, or even try to get a career started with my music. Deep down, I know I'm just nearly there to sounding as amazing as those I love listening to, online and offline.
Writing a novel is still something I'm not ready to even start. I have some ideas but not enough, and I'm busy with this song project, something I've never done before. For some months, I just got back into music making, after an unplanned three to four year hiatus.
I'm just as passionate about music as I am about writing. I love both so much, and both have definitely helped me through some really hard times in the past. I hope creative types of various sorts come here sometime. TV shows... Well, there's quite a handful I love watching, new and old. I have seasons of Supernatural on DVD, and all of Heroes on DVD as well. I got the very first season of that old show The Dead Zone for a really good bargain. As for some newer shows, I'm an avid watcher of some fantasy/sci-fi action-drama type shows (Grimm, Once Upon a Time, Agents of SHIELD...) And there's two fairly new sitcom shows I watch with my mom, who I'm very close to; Blackish, and The Goldbergs on the ABC channel. The Goldbergs is based on a real family. Last week's episode! Ahaha, I'm glad there's no one like the oldest son in the family in the board game meetup group Mom and I go to on Fridays! He's way too competitive at those, and lol he even made up his own game he thought only he could win at; Barry-opoly.
Once in a while, I may watch reruns of Full House or Home Improvements. Classics, in my opinion... I think my mom watches Cheers. She's into those shows. I'm not into sitcoms very much myself, but there are a few I find to be really good and hilarious. Also, there's Whose Line is it Anyway!
When it comes to my sweet tooth, I even love sour stuff. XD I know I'm crazy to even like the Warheads candies, the most sourest candy ever created. Extremely sour, wow! I can only handle three to four at a time though, lol. I just bought some, soon after seeing them at this quick stop near where I work. You hardly ever see them, at least here in Southern Maryland these days. It's understandable that it may not be as popular as it was so long ago when I was a kid (the way some parents these days are over their kids), yet I'm still glad I have some to last me a while.
